Impressive Year of Home Sales Amidst Limited Inventory

Eau Claire, WI - Home sales in the northwestern counties in Wisconsin increased as much as 86.7% in November of 2018 compared to November of 2017, despite limited homes for sale.

“Several of the counties in Northwestern Wisconsin have seen impressive home sales in 2018, even though inventory has been tight all year,” said REALTORS® Association of Northwest Wisconsin, Executive Vice President Brenda Barnhardt.

The most recent analysis of the existing home market by the Wisconsin REALTORS® Association showed in Dunn County home sales were up 86.7% overall compared to November of last year, Chippewa County home sales were up 15.2% compared to last year, and Eau Claire home sales increased 6.9% since last year. Northwestern Wisconsin continues to be ahead of the statewide average of home sales, which dropped 1.7% when compared to November of last year.

While inventory has been tight for most of 2018, statewide, new listings were up 5.2% in November, and pricing for homes tends to so en in the winter months.
