Local REALTORS® Association Partners with Habitat for Humanity
Posted: 04.3.18
Eau Claire, WI - Two local non-profits are teaming up to better provide home repairs for lower income families who own their own homes. The REALTORS® Association of Northwestern Wisconsin is awarding the Chippewa Valley Habitat for Humanity a $1,500 grant to help employees complete their OSHA training.
“The RANWW Foundation is dedicated to the betterment of our communities, and working with Chippewa Valley Habitat for Humanity is just a natural fit to help us achieve that goal,” said Brenda Barnhardt, REALTORS® Association of Northwestern Wisconsin Executive Vice President.
Because Chippewa Valley Habitat for Humanity completes the majority of its construction work with volunteers, it must have employees on staff who are trained and certified in safety. The grant from RANWW will allow 2-3 people to be trained and certified in our area.
In addition to the OSHA training, Chippewa Valley Habitat for Humanity plans to work with the RANWW Foundation to apply for grant funding for its expanded home preservation program. According to CVH4H , the intent is that CVH4H can find partner families in need, complete projects, and work with the RANWW Foundation to help fund the projects. Homeowners will work directly with CVH4H to complete the projects, learn home maintenance skills, and gain a sense of pride and dignity by helping fix their homes.
“We plan to work directly with the REALTORS® Association to fund projects in the area so we can both meet our missions,” said Aaron Czappa, Chippewa Valley Habitat for Humanity Executive Director.
The REALTORS® Association of Northwestern Wisconsin is the professional trade association that all professional REALTORS® residing within the association jurisdiction belong to. The association provides educational opportunities for its members, is active in local, state and national advocacy efforts, engages in community outreach through charitable giving, operates its own private foundation to help homeowners in need and remains a positive force for the members they serve.
